Taking care of children with special needs can be very exhausting and draining for parents. For low-income families, this can take a toll on marriage, relationships, and family finances. Often, these parents have no me-time or date nights to bond and strengthen their marriage, or even just to rest, simply because they do not have the means to engage a sitter or helper, and lack community support to take care of their special needs children, even just for one evening out.
Research has shown that couples need time together to bond, to rest, to date and communicate, in order to be better parents. To better support these families, Brainy Moves is organising a once a month special evening, where parents of special needs children can drop off their kids for free at Brainy Moves to enjoy an evening out as a couple, or me-time. We hope that by doing this, we contribute to building stronger marriages, and stronger families.
We hope to do this for 30 children once a month, on 25 April and 23 May. Brainy Moves will organise activities and meals will be provided for the children.
We are also calling out for volunteers to assist us on these 2 evenings, and sponsors (any amount or in kind) who could possibly sponsor dining vouchers for the parents or meals for the children are welcome.
Brainy Moves is located at Centropod @ Changi, 80 Changi Road, #03-18/19/20, Singapore 419715, near OneKM mall, and near Joo Chiat, in the east.
